The Solar QA specialist for Utility Construction is responsible for
ensuring the highest quality standards in the installation and commissioning of large-
scale solar power systems. This role involves overseeing quality assurance
processes throughout the construction phase, from initial site preparation to final
system validation, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and regulatory
requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:


 Perform detailed inspections and testing of solar infrastructure, including
panels, inverters, racking systems and electrical components to ensure
compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
 Monitor and verify the construction process, ensuring adherence to
engineering plans, safety requirements and quality control procedures.
 Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and quality
issues. Prepare and submit quality reports to project manager and
stakeholders.
 Serve as a liaison between JMS Energy and its clients with regard to quality
assurance.
 Ensure all construction activities comply with state, local and federal
regulations as well as industry standards such as NEC, IEC and UL.
 Identify, document and resolve quality issues or discrepancies. Collaborate
with construction teams to develop and implement corrective action plans.
 Recommend improvements to construction and quality assurance processes to
enhance project efficiency and system performance.
 Work closely with project managers, engineers and contractors to ensure
quality control processes are integrated into every phase of the construction
process.
 Promote and enforce safety standards on-site, ensuring all team members
understand and adhere to safety protocols and demonstrating safe behavior.
 Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:


 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
preferred.
 Certifications in Quality Assurance, Solar Technology or Construction
management are advantageous.
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Solar Industry with 2 years’ experience
in mechanical/electrical QA/QC.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


 Strong client facing and internal communications and interpersonal skills.
 Understanding of quality control methodologies, construction processes and
solar technology.
 In-depth understanding of solar power systems, relevant construction codes
and standards and quality assurance practices.
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
 A solid technical background, with understanding of or hands-on experience
with construction systems/software.
 Ability to work effectively with and provide leadership to a diverse team.

Work Environment:


 This position involves both office-based tasks and on-site inspections.
 When working at a job site this role may be exposed to site conditions such as
hot or cold temperatures, outdoor elements, dust, fumes and loud noises.
 On-site work requires adherence to safety regulations and Company policies.
 Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with
